CDC Weekender | 28. & 29.08.2021 in Berlin Neukölln

Our friends from M.I.K. Family have teamed up with TopUp Production to create the CDC Festival. They have combined the two formats TopUp Dancehall Camp and Cypher Dance Championship to one big festival.

This year again the CDC Festival will unfortunately not take place as usual due to the current situation. Instead the CDC Weekender will kick off on 28.08. and 29.08.2021! In addition to workshops and battles, there will also be a conference program as part of the project “Safer Space for BIPoC in the black dance scene” of MINCE e.V. (info tba). The event will be held at the sports hall & outdoor area of the Sonnen-Grundschule in Berlin Neukölln. Friendly supported by IRIEDAILY!

Here you can see the dance instructors, the schedule and the fees for the classes:

M.I.K. Family & TopUp Production

The M.I.K. Family was founded in 2006 as a dance crew. Today they are more than “just” a dance group. Their activities range from social work, dance theatre, TV shows, modeling, DJing to dance courses and the organization of their own events. The M.I.K. Family is characterized by the different dance skills of its members: from classical Hip Hop and Streetdance over Krump and House up to dynamic Lite Feet and Afro Styles.

TopUp Production is a team of six young women whose mission is to promote and endorse afro diasporic popular culture in Berlin, Germany and Europe. They want to enhance cultural exchange and understanding between the Caribbean and the Western culture and wish that both sides can learn from each other and thus, enrich their way of living, thinking and creating art.
