United We Stream Femmely Affair

IRIEDAILY friendly supports: FEMMELY AFFAIR presented by United We Stream  | International Women’s Day, 08 March 2021 from 3pm

On 08 March 2021 it is International Women’s Day. But we do not only relax on this holiday in Berlin, but have a very special event tip for you: FEMMELY AFFAIR presented by United We Stream! A day full of music, panels and talks – friendly supported by IRIEDAILY. Also on board are: shesaid.so Berlin, i+m NATURKOSMETIK BERLIN and the Riverside Studios Berlin. Due to the current situation, the event will of course take place online. The free livestream starts on 08 March at 3 pm on unitedwestream.org, Facebook and Youtube.

We invite you to a day full of music, panels and talks! We come together to create a safer space to empower each other and nurture a vivid, global network of artists, event creators and cultural entrepreneurs.
Besides music streams from Berlin, Tbilisi and South Africa, we get unite to discuss the need for a progressive development in the music industry. We want to shed a light on social movements striving for structural changes in the music sector and have a look on the discourses of our times through multidimensional lenses.

The program includes music livestreams from Berlin, Tbilisi and South Africa, as well as panels and talks discussing the need for progressive development in the music industry. The focus is on social movements that strive for structural changes in the music sector. Structural disadvantages and inequalities for women and gender minorities are still an essential reality here. To highlight this, and especially the great female, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming artists of the scene, the event FEMMELY AFFAIR was created.

In the program you can expect, among other things, two exciting talk formats, which were conceived in cooperation with shesaid.so Berlin.
Lindi Delight invites you with her panel to explore the meaning of an intersectional approach considering power dynamics in the music industry. Inspiring speakers from different backgrounds will share their experiences on the topic of “Intersectionality and Social Movements in the Music Industry”. Guests are: Aerea Negrot, Lakuti, Mirca Lotz & Monty Luke.
The second talk format, the Round Table “Real Talk: How we’ve changed”, is moderated by Franzi Eichler and is dedicated to mental well-being in these particularly challenging times. Franzi will be talking to Mor Elian, Robbie Cordukes & Tobi Neumann.

Also, Katharin Ahrend (United We Stream) will be interviewing Lewamm Ghebremariam from “Brenn Berlin” about women’s solidarity, sisterhood and activism.
On top of that you can look forward to the world premiere of Charlot van Heeswijk’s queer-feminist short film “Hysteria“. After that, two special music videos by Riverside Studios residents Antifuchs and Avawaves will be presented, before the event continues with the musical performances and DJ sets from Berlin, South Africa and Georgia. A program full of highlights!
