IRIEDAILY friendly supports: ibug 2021 – Festival of Urban Art | Special Edition in Flöha

The “Industriebrachenumgestaltung”, or ibug for short, is taking place again this year as a special edition. The 16th edition of the Festival for Urban Art will take place in Flöha, Saxony, in the old paper mill, which has been mostly lying fallow since the mid-90s. The ibug has the goal to make it possible for everyone to experience any kind of art that is created in the informal urban space.
The industrial fallow land in Flöha has now become a canvas for selected national and international artists. Since August 3, about 60 creative people have designed the area in stages with paintings and graffiti, illustrations and installations, upcycling and multimedia. Other international artists who cannot be on site due to the pandemic are participating in the form of digital contributions and exhibits.

Among others these artists participate: Adhocrates (Austria), BOND (Leipzig), WENC (Belgium), Robert Deutsch (Leipzig), Elias Lory (Leipzig), Ememem (France), die Freizeitgruppe Gestaltung (Glauchau), HNRX (Austria), KJ263 (Dusseldorf), Miezwars (Leipzig), MOTS (Berlin), RUIN (Austria), Uder&Schindl (Leipzig/Rotterdam)und VESUV (Berlin).

This year the ibug will be divided into three festival weekends. The festival site will be open to visitors from August 27-29, September 3-5 and September 10-12. The program includes guided tours, films, music and performances, panel discussions, as well as offers and workshops for pupils. Of course, everything will be in accordance with a safety and hygiene concept.
The exhibition is open on Fridays from 15:30-20, and on Saturdays and Sundays between 10-20. The beer garden on the festival site is open until 10pm each night. Entry is in staggered time slots of 4.5 hours, always from 10:00-14:30 and from 15:30-20:00.
