About Loser Records

Loser Records was founded 2019 in Berlin by the three Bavarian music lovers Michal Zietara, Patrick Mariscal and Thomas Fachtan.

It all began as an abstract idea by screen printing some funny t-shirts and handing them out to friends, but they soon developed the urge for it to be more. Loser Records was born as a fun, creative space for the three founders and their closest circle to express themselves in the areas of music and design. A platform to allow fairly unknown artists to release their music to a wider audience and for the trio itself to contribute to the creative music scene of Berlin.

The mantra of „do not take yourself too serious“ runs like a red thread through the label’s creative output: always aiming for creating a smile on people’s faces, once they see the label’s merch, records or simply a sticker on a wall out in the streets of Berlin. The designs by Loser Records’ art director Patrick Mariscal aka Rickardo von Hawaii are a key component to spark these emotions within their audience.

Deeply rooted in the Berlin nightlife scene, the label organizes parties in well known locations around the city, like RSO, Renate or Zur Klappe. Through these events and an additional monthly podcast series on Soundcloud, they are trying to give befriended artists a chance to showcase their talent to an audience, which they might not be able reach otherwise.

Their latest vinyl releases can be found in record stores around Europe and even made their way across the globe to record stores in Australia and the US. Digital releases give the label a chance to release the music of friends in a quick and easy manner, without the need for and delay of a pricey pressing plant process.

Kid Simius & Michal Zietra – Peak Time EP

The third vinyl release from Loser Records comes in the form of an upbeat collaboration between label co-founder Michal Zietara and the esteemed multi-talented Kid Simius. An EP full of positive energy and summer vibes, it consists of three tracks by the duo and a stunning remix by Julius Steinhoff. Check it out!

Maybe you can already guess that the artwork of the EP was also created by Patrick Mariscal, who also did the design for the Loser Records x IRIEDAILY Collab Tee. He combines his comic-like naive style with a fair amount of humor, resulting in artworks loaded with a lot of irony! Real life is just not always as it seems to be in the filter world. Fact is: Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose! But remember to keep smiling 🙂
