The Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg – 18-21 September 2019

If you want to sum up the Reeperbahn Festival, then it’s best to do so: 900 events, 90 venues, 600 concerts, 240 conference events, 100 art, film and literature programmes, over 40,000 visitors in 4 days and around 4700 professional visitors from 56 countries. Wow, these are many impressive numbers!

This year’s Reeperbahn Festival takes place from September 18th to 21st and it is already the 14th round! The programme includes a diverse line-up of new and international talents. The more than 900 individual events are truly diverse, as are the numerous locations. In the meantime, the festival has become an important meeting place for the music world and shows how music industry interests can be combined with civil society commitment.

The Festival

In addition to around 600 concerts by international artists, the programme also includes formats of visual art and virtual reality as well as a thematically diverse range of films and literature. The Discourse section also provides a platform for social and cultural debates, as well as information about entering the music industry. The Festival Village on Heiligengeistfeld forms the central hub for such themes and many more. Within the framework of sessions, showcases, networking events and award shows, industry visitors to Reeperbahn Festival can listen to, rethink and experience music. (Source)

This year’s opening event will be a bit more spectacular than in the last years and will duly introduce the festival in the Hanseatic city! DOORS OPEN is the name of the event where you can look forward to international live acts as well as guests from music and media. This year’s celebrity jury of the ANCHOR talent competition and the six nominees will also be presented here.
By the way, this year’s partner country is called Australia! Down Under is known for great indie rock and DIY spirit. Many events will deal with Australia’s music scene and its status quo.

The Conference

In addition to the numerous programme points for the public audience, the Reeperbahn Festival has also created a B2B programme with the conference as a platform for the music and digital creative industries.
