Berlin Art Week: “Nonpoint Sources” by Hendrik Czakainski @Urban Spree Galerie

During Berlin Art Week , the Urban Spree Galerie hosts the fourth solo exhibition of German artist Hendrik Czakainski. The show is titled “Nonpoint Sources” and opens on 09 September at 6pm in presence of the artist and with an outdoor DJ set by DEJOE. During the Art Week, the exhibition will open its doors from Thursday to Sunday (10.-13.09.2020) from 12 noon – 7pm. After that you can visit the show until 10.10.2020, every Wednesday-Friday from 2-7pm and Saturday from 12 noon -7pm.

Czakainski builds spatial and three-dimensional wall sculptures from various materials, which from a bird’s eye view are reminiscent of slums and urban structures marked by devastation and destruction. In doing so, he alienates the materials used and thus creates certain illusions.

Hendrik Czakainski Urban Spree

Hendrik Czakainski fills his large wall sculptures with the particles and raindrops of our contaminated civilization, building his imaginary constructions only to let them succumb to the invisible and poisonous streams that run through it. Huge fracture lines dislocate high-density environments while structures are flooded with the colored poisons that irrigate the veins of our industrial civilization. (Source)
