United We Stream: Save the Berlin Club Culture
The Corona crisis has forced the Berlin clubs to a standstill. Since 13 March 2020, nightlife has been shut down to reduce the spread of the virus. As a result, more than 9,000 employees and tens of thousands of artists are suddenly out of work, and the many places that have given Berlin its identity are on the brink of ruin.
But the clubs are not that easy to get down and have launched the project “United We Stream Berlin“. Berlin shows solidarity and brings the biggest digital club to your place. The first stream starts on Wednesday, 18 March at 7pm with a live set from the Watergate!
United We Stream, in partnership with ARTE concert, will be the streaming platform of Berlin clubs, promoters and artists and will show the whole range and diversity of the Berlin club scene on one channel. In addition to the live broadcast of DJ sets, live music and performances, United We Stream will also be a platform for discussion rounds, lectures and films on club-cultural topics. (Source)
Without your support the Berlin club scene cannot survive. With only 10, 20 or 30 Euro per month you can become a sponsor and receive a virtual club stamp as a thank you. Here you can donate! Additionally you can donate directly to clubs and event organizers or purchase soli-merch.
All income from the streams will go into a relief fund, which will be distributed among the clubs and organizers needing help according to certain criteria and with the help of an independent jury.
