Union Berlin, adidas & IRIEDAILY for Mellowpark

“Next to each other, with each other, for each other” – Under this motto, the Bundesliga soccer team 1. FC Union Berlin, adidas, and IRIEDAILY have teamed up and developed a very special jersey to support sports and youth culture in the district of Köpenick.
More specifically, it is about the Köpenick institution Mellowpark, which is located directly opposite the Union Stadium “An der alten Försterei”.

The Mellowpark is not only the LOCATION for BMXing in Berlin, but has been creating spaces for young people for decades, so that they can try out and find space for the development of their personality, talents and creativity.

All the more we are happy to have created a very special jersey for the good cause as well as a small streetwear collection in close cooperation with Union Berlin and adidas.

The Unioner will play in the special jersey, which is decorated on the chest with the Mellowpark logo, on the 29th of April at the home game against Bayer Leverkusen and will thus focus on Berlin’s youth culture as well as the Mellowpark on the soccer field. In addition, the Union women’s team will wear the special jersey as part of Union Berlin’s annual Women’s Football Day on the 1st of May in a test match against 1. FC Köln II.

From part of the proceeds from the sale of the limited edition jersey, adidas and its partners finance the construction of a new skate plaza in Mellowpark. This will be inaugurated with an event on Sunday, the 30th of April. In the future, the new space will provide social initiatives from the southeast of Berlin with space for workshops and projects related to skateboarding – true to the motto: “Next to each other, with each other, for each other.”

IRIEDAILY fans have certainly already recognized it: The basic design of the jersey is the IRIEDAILY “Crazy Fresh” iconic pattern, as well as the integration of a play on words from “Eisern Union” and “IRIEDAILY”, which runs discreetly across the shirt as “Daily Eisern Irie Union” lettering. The obligatory U.N.V.E.U. lettering is at the neck and the adidas logo and Union emblem adorn the front. The IRIEDAILY flag logo is placed on the jersey sleeve.

In addition to the jersey, a limited streetwear collection was developed, which bridges the design elements of the jersey. The so-called Culture Wear collection features the classic styles of streetwear: hoodie, t-shirt and track jacket. To create a more decent style, the modified IRIEDAILY “Crazy Fresh” pattern as well as the wordplay of Eisern Union and IRIEDAILY have been incorporated tone-in-tone on the three styles. The additional integration of the more subtle U.N.V.E.U logo, circled with the previously mentioned pun, was a perfect addition consequently.
Thus, the look, color choice and design of the three styles that are suitable for the stadium as well as for your everyday activities!
