IRIEDAILY friendly supports: DICE Festival Berlin
IRIEDAILY friendly supports: DICE Conference + Festival | October 26- 31 in Berlin Kreuzberg
The DICE Conference + Festival takes place again this year from October 26-31 in the Taborkirche in Berlin Kreuzberg. Due to the current situation, the third edition can only take place with a limited number of participants. Therefore the digital supporting program will be broadcast over many channels.
The program includes workshops, seminars, panels and performances, all of which deal with the main theme “Point Of No Return“.
Far before the new global reality of COVID-19, musicians, artists, and their corresponding communities faced widespread precarity, inequality and discrimination. Beyond the Point Of No Return the future is uncertain, and there is a necessity for new and more equitable structures, safety-nets, and expanded access.
The program therefore focuses primarily on communities that are disproportionately disadvantaged by a crisis and on the question of how cultural spaces can continue to exist after the crisis.
DICE aims to promote vibrant and innovative voices whose contributions to the artistic field are underrepresented. The program features interdisciplinary artists who expand the boundaries of artistic practice and stimulate critical dialogue among the general public.
The festival lasts for six days. To ensure that DICE continues to reach the largest possible audience, physical live formats will be combined with live streaming and an interactive online offering. In addition, there will be reading, listening and viewing material available during and after the event.
The live performances take place on 30 & 31 October with a smaller audience and sufficient distance in the Taborkirche. The line-up consists of international artists, who all live and work in Berlin.
This year’s conference program will take place on 26 October online and on 27 & 28 October in the Kiezkapelle in Berlin Neukölln. The program includes among others these workshops, panels & talks:
– Body Movement for Confindence
– Money, Power & Appropriation in the Bulesque Scene
– Queer Ear Mastering Workshop
– Field Recording & Production Workshop
– Pop-Up Library Hour with the Mortville Public Library
– Interactive Queer Neighbourhood Walking Tour
– Amnesia as a Cultural Privilege
– Legacy of Berlin DIY Spaces for Resistance and Social Movements: venues, music spaces & gentrification
– Building Online Communities
– Action group to discuss launch initiatives for the newly formed Intersectional Association for Racial Equity in the Music Industry (IAREMI)
